Lisa Delaney was 70 pounds overweight with a sputtering career and a non-existent love life when an epiphany involving a half-gallon of mint chocolate chip ice cream made her vow to change it all—for good.

Now, almost 20 years later, Lisa is a successful writer and editor at a national magazine, has run 10 marathons, is fearless in front of a crowd — or a camera — and is married to the man she loves.

Oh, and she wears a size 2.

The author of Secrets of a Former Fat Girl: How to Drop Two, Four—or More!—Dress Sizes and Find Yourself Along the Way, Lisa has spent the majority of her 20-year journalism career covering diet, fitness, nutrition, and health for women’s consumer magazines.

Currently an editor at Health magazine, Lisa shares her passion for and professional expertise in living a healthy lifestyle with millions of women each month.

She has also held positions at Cooking Light and Prevention magazines, and has written for titles such as Vogue, Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, and Readers’ Digest.

A dedicated runner for over 15 years, Lisa has completed 10 marathons and too many shorter road races and triathlons to count.

She continues to live the Former Fat Girl life in Birmingham, Alabama, with her husband, Rick, and son, Johnny.
